1/21/2024 0 Comments Endurance it company![]() ![]() ![]() In addition to investing in video tech instructor-led classes, Endurance provides a learning portal called PluralSight that all staff have access to for technical and project management training. We have begun mentor-led classes, available to all employees to assist in obtaining certifications, and we also allow staff to shadow other engineers at client engagements for their training benefit. We cover the costs for tests, books, materials, online training and classes for training for all positions, not just engineer certifications. Endurance hosts in-house training to keep everyone on the same page and prepare our employees for advancement within the company. Each engineer is teamed up with a mentor in their specific field. What do you do to develop employees and help them grow? Each employee upon hiring is assigned a management-level mentor who checks in weekly, including discussing professional development. Once a candidate joins our firm, our entire management team works to ensure the staff member is onboarded in a manner that leaves a lasting impression. Finally, the candidate meets with the client services manager and president for a personality assessment. Engineer candidates meet with the staff support consultant and vice president after passing a skills test. Several interviews ensure a good fit for the individual and the company. Endurance utilizes three (outside recruiting firms in conjunction with our own internal recruiting efforts to find ideal candidates. What strategies do you have for retaining employees? Locating top IT candidates who have strong technical and personality traits can be difficult. The executive team meets weekly to discuss any issues brought up and establishes an action plan to address each suggested improvement. Each quarterly newsletter has a “feedback email link” to make it simple for employees to express their satisfaction or dissatisfaction. After fun events, employees can take a survey to evaluate the event and provide suggestions or comments. How do you measure employee satisfaction? Employees are given an open forum to provide feedback, including weekly touch points by their manager, monthly lunch meetings about their client engagement and company satisfaction and quarterly goal and performance assessments. Our motto is “family always comes first.” We encourage staff to leave work behind when they head home for the day. Each of our staff mentors check in weekly to ensure staff are fully aware of their paid time off and making use of it. Endurance IT strives daily to ensure each and every staff member maintains a healthy work-life balance. The two owners self-funded the company by liquidating portions of their 401(k) plans and put in place benefits, events and other items that most startup companies do not establish for years. What makes your business a top employer? When Endurance IT was founded in 2008, the two owners were of like mindset in that they wanted to create a company culture that ensured they could attract top IT talent but also retain those staff for as long as possible.
